    Cannot Install the catalyst AMD driver

    Hi, i got a Pavilion dv6-6172sf, I already switch on my graphic card to the ATI HD 6770M and when i tried to install the driver the installer say he doesn't found an ATI HD card -_- what i supposed to do please ?

    First, nice laptop. Second, which driver do you have now? and which one are you trying to install and where did you get it from? direct from AMD? or from HP ?

    generally speaking, you want to jump up to the switchable graphics thread. Start around here and you see what you want to know.

    Also, check your bios version is at least F.1A.

    This would allow you do define in the BIOS to be in either Fixed or in Dynamic Mode.

    The actual version of my driver is

    Catalyst Control Center 2011.0315.958.16016

    and driver i try to install is the lastest on the AMD driver website
    for the JD 6***M

    and i also install the last BIOS and turn on the switchable graphics cards to FIXED

    Catalyst Control Center is not the driver, it is the GUI.

    The only drivers that can be installed over the HP drivers are the hotfix and preview drivers that have been modified for mobility versions. I suggest only using the driver and not any of the other files included.

    Version 11.5b seems to be everyone's favorite here at notebook review.
