Ok I'm trying to run an internet radio station running off my HP DV6500T.

Problem is when I set Shoutcast's input to sound card, I can't find anything where I can choose recording source as "What You Hear". Does anyone know what I can do to get around this? Or is it pretty much impossible to record what comes out of the laptops speakers?... :(

    Thanks!

Are you looking @ the window with 4 tabs; 'Main','Output',Encoder','Input'?

The only sound settings I could find on this computer is Realtek HD Audio Manager. What window are you talking about?

the DSP Shoutcast window. Ran through winamp. In Preferences... Sub cat. named: 'DSP/Effect' Select SHOUTcast Source DSP.

This is where all your broadcasting originates from...

Yeah but I want to run it in Sound Card mode so I stream my music as well as my voice over a microphone. Which is why I'm looking for some kind of record by "what you hear" option. Because I remember using this setting in windows XP.

In DSP the sound card does not work for some reason, if you select Winamp as the input it works for me... A while back i remember neither working for me. All in all its not your notebook, its winamp. I think i was able to do it by plugging my line in to my mic or something like that... it was confusing but it can be done.

Yeah but the odd thing is I can't even get my Mic's sound to come out of my speakers. I'm thinking its the sound card thats not letting us do that. I mean just look at the sound cards settings/options theres not much you can do but add sound effects thats pretty much it.
