I bought the iLugger bag, it has backpack straps, shoulder strap and a handle plus two protected pockets inside. So far it has worked out great.

I ordered it, lets see how it goes. Is there other compartments for the accessories?

There are two padded pockets and room behind them for things. I am finding the zipper to be a pain in the ass but over all the iLugger is a good product.

you should probably go with a backpack since the HDX in a shoulder bag would probably kill your shoulder :D

I have my I-lugger, and it is working fine. The zipper sucks and I wish it had more compartments, but whatever, its better then nothing.

Anyone carry their HDX9000 on a Aircraft yet? Which bag did you use?
How was it taken care of by TSA security. Did you have to remove it from the bag and turn it on. HP tells you to remove the battery when you travel with or ship this monster. So you would have to unpack and plug in the battery if TSA asked you to turn it on??

Anyway. I'm looking into the ilugger too.

How do you guys like your HDX? I know it's fairly heavy, but that's to be expected given its size. I'm considering buying one once the new version comes out with the 8800 video card.

We love it. We have had ours for about a month now. Very little problems ," Knock on wood" We are not using ours as a Laptop but as a HTPC plugged in to our 61 inch DLP TV.
The reason I asked about the case was. We were thinking of bringing it when we visit on our vaction durring the summer.

If you know somebody who makes one let us know, so far the pickins are very slim and there is nada for backpacks.

HP at one point said they were going to be adding something to their website for us HDX owners but so far they have no update.

    I would LOVE a backpack...

:) What size of iLugger did you buy? The 17/20 or 24?

    Thank you,
    Michael

Here is what I have currently: http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-MEZZI-XXT-A...1002121QQihZ001QQcategoryZ11170QQcmdZViewItem

The only place I could find it was at this ebay store and through mezzi.com. It works very well for lugging my HDX around town, but I haven't tried carrying it onto a plane yet. I want a rolling bag for that job and, like everyone else, I haven't found an available bag that the HDX fits in.

It looks like a solution may well be on the way from HP. Take a look at this:
    http://www.shopping.hp.com/store/product/product_detail/KD853PA?

I'm going to continue checking back on the rolling case and snap it up as soon as it's available. I'll post my thoughts on it as soon as I get it.

BTW, I love my HDX. I own a few bars/clubs and now have a machine that is powerful enough for all my business aps and security feeds and portable enough to work from home...or play from home or Vegas, for that matter.

    Cheers, all.

HP has posted the 20" carry case on their website and the site says the bag is in stock:

    http://www.shopping.hp.com/product/notebook/notebook_hp/carrying_cases/1/accessories/KD853PA

The posted price is $99.99. If you increase your order by another penny, the shipping is free.

The roller bag is manufactured by Targus, but I have not found it on the Targus page yet. Its too bad the HP did not post the measurements.

So far I have been carrying the HDX in the box it came in. I found out from a former COMPUSA manager that a new carry bag for the HDX was in the works by HP so waited. I will order one after returning from a business trip. Hopefully, it will fit in the baggage compartment of my plane.

I like the HDX, but I have reservations about the ATI 2800 graphics. I should have waited another week to purchase the upgraded version, but needed the year end deduction for my business.

Damn, I wanted to order one of the HP rolling cases tonight but it says out of stock. I guess I'll just wait for a backpack.

pcconnection.com has the Dicota Multigiant 20" notebook case for about $37.

I have one being shipped and should be here monday so I'll see how it is then.
For now I'm using the HP roller case which is good but a little bulky as it is also designed to carry clothes as well also it doesn't really provide much protection as the notebook sits in a sleeve that is attached to the inside of the front flap.

TSA is the devil. If you take the laptop, be careful with how they handle it and check to make sure it won't get ruined going through their stupid machines. If they scratch it, put in a claim!

I'm not still bitter that they stole my camera from my baggage over Thanksgiving. :)

They took the battery out of my camera and gave me back the camera.
The battery was a special battery sold by Olympus. cost $19.00
Clame was rejected because of low price. Had to buy a new one when arrived. I guess better then having to buy a new digital camera.

I wonder if they would take the HDX battery away from you too.

Sometimes I wonder if it would be worth it to spend the $25.00 ground plus insuarce to have UPS ship the Dragon HDX to your destination.

I just received the KD853PD case from HP. Not bad! Inside there is a slip pocket for the HDX and pockets galore for anything else and enough room for clothes. The front pocket has pockets for pens, pencils, and cell phone.

The case measures 23" x 18" x 8" empty (12"+ when packed) and has strappes to turn it into a backpack if you are so inclined.

I will be on another business trip and this time I will take the case ( laptop too) and see how things go. If anyhting turns out weird, I'll make another post.

Here is my update. The case is cumbersome to use and only holds enough clothes for an overnight. It is also not going to be TSA friendly for those who dare to take this laptop on a business trip regardless of what case you use. I should say you will be killed by the travelers waiting in line to go through the checkpoint. For this and other reasons, I will not fly commercial airlines unless absolutely necessary. (I have photography equipment that I would be forced to send as checked baggage and due to recently enacted rules, TSA would confiscate the batteries, rendering the equipment useless. However, being checked baggage, I just gave the equipment away anyway.)

Now back to this case. It barely fits through the baggage door of my plane but also sits nicely in the back seat and gets strapped in like a passenger. It is great to have the wheels, but the pull handle is a little flimsy to my liking. I might get used to using the case or overhaul it to suit me, but I will also be looking for something a little more rugged such as a Pelican case with wheels.
