Has anyone found a decent case that fits the monster that is the HDX18?

I have been looking around and cannot find anything. I am looking for a messenger bag style (non leather).

    Thanks.

That's nothing - you should see what we had to go through for the HDX 20.1" Dragons. However, fortunately for you, the same cases will work as the HDX 18 is just a bit smaller.

The 2 I use are the Dicota Multigiant (you can order it from the Dell Store or find it online) which costs around $50 and is an excellent traditional notebook case, but hard for the Dragon - Dragons weigh double the weight of an 18. But for you it should be just right. Great padding, pockets, construction.

For a roller, HP sells a Targus rollercase that was designed specifically for the Dragons. It's a great case -you can use it as a roller, backpack, or just carry it. What's really nice is that it has a slot for the notebook with additional space for clothes and stuff if you're just doing an overnight trip.

Check through the HDX Owner's Lounge thread for the Dragon as well - this topic has come up many times and there are some links to other cases that aren't computer cases, but if they'll take a Dragon they'll fit an 18 without problem.

Thanks for both of you for the suggestions. I definitely do not want a roller case. I haven't actually bought the HDX18 yet. I am thinking about getting it this week, but without a decent case, it could be problem.

I have an Ogion Brain Bucket. The lappy sits snug inside with enough space for the power brick on the outside sleeve. $25 from ebags.com, I think.

Thanks for the pointer. I had actually forgotten about eBags. The High Sierra Sherman that they offer is more along the line of what I was looking for.

I searched ebags for laptop bags that would fit the hdx18 and the High Sierra Sherman wasn't included as one of the results but the dimensions fit though... so does anyone know if it will fit for sure?

Try this bag from Belkin - on EBay: 360123800330 I also have a Alienware messenger bag that I just got and the computer fits in either of them. Good luck on your search
