WARNING: replacing keyboard not user recommended.

I have to admit after seeing the backlit keyboard a certain fondness for it's style. However, after finding out that some people have replaced there OME themselves with the backlit version, I decided to purchase and install one of my own.

Although I'm satisfied with the results of my install, I must give a big warning to anyone that is contemplating doing this. DO NOT try to install it by only removing the bezel--as this is not an owner removable part.

Although I was able to manage it, it took a great deal of time (nearly 2 hours) and energy to accomplish. The hard part was trying to remove this very delicate part without breaking or damaging the laptop. So unless your very intrepid (or dumb like I was) I wouldn't attempt to do it that way. I think I put an extra 6 months of wear and tear on my new laptop.

So, unless you plan on disassembling the unit, I'd avoid it.
