I was wondering if you can send you notebook back to HP and have to install a newer better GPU when they come out? I thought I heard you could do this with Dell I was wondering if HP did the same thing.

Not on this model. The GPU is soldered directly onto the motherboard. Yeah, someone at HP needs a serious cluestick beating for putting such an obsolete video chip on a state-of-the-art 64-bit notebook.

Shame you'll be stuck with an inferior CPU, but I guess I can't blame you. I'd have suggested an eMachines M6809 instead (on sale at Best Buy this week, $1400 after rebates, 64meg Radeon 9600 and DVD burner) but you'd lose the very nice HP 1680x1050 res screen and bigger battery that way.

the diference between the CPU's is much smaller then the difference between the GPU's it would be so great if I could have the AMD with the Radeon, it makes no sense to advertise how great a gaming CPU it is then pair it with such a horrible GPU.
