I purchased a dv6700t yesterday and chose the fingerprint reader, but I actually want the webcam. If I call up Hp do you think they will change this for me? They are both the same price so it is just a matter of a quick change. Also, is the integrated bluetooth worth it?

Yes call up ASAP to change your order, they might be able to depending on the phase of the order. You can always just return it and order a new one but that will take more time.

The bluetooth is worth it depending on what devices you plan to use on it. Its quite handy to have, in my opinion since theres alot of BT capable devices these days

Yeah, but the only thing is I ordered it using that 25% off coupon, which means if I canceled and reordered I would be paying a lot more. Do you think they would be able to add the bluetooth to it over the phone as well, charging it to the same CC used to purchase it?

As flipfire said, you must call ASAP. Yes, they can change your entire order if necessary, but only if you call very soon before it starts getting built.

I believe you have 24 hours from when you first order the laptop. I remember I called in the 2nd day after I ordered the laptop and since my laptop specs were already sent out to the factory they wouldn't change it. If they don't change it, you have 21 days I believe after you receive the laptop to return it. You can use the laptop and everything, you just need to make sure it is returned within that time.

If you are really worried about spending more money, HP is always running sales and coupons for 20-30% off, but it all depends on how fast you need the laptop.

Yeah I just called them earlier today and they said it had already been sent to the factory to be built. I guess it's no big deal, though. I should have used the student discount, but I didn't think about that at the time. I'll be happy with it either way since it is many times more powerful than my current desktop. I got it for college right now because I don't want to wait any longer, unless HP has better deals within the next 2 months.

I don't think you can change an order with HP.. I called 5 minutes after I placed my order last year because I forgot to click on the free lightscribe upgrade. I said I would cancel the order and she offered me another 100 bucks off to keep it.... which I agreed to. One thing I can say for Dell is they have a modify department that can change orders without having to cancel the system and loose coupons etc.. But the problem with Dells is once you get the system it will have a crappy screen with crappy speakers.. probably other build issues as well.

As for the BT its nice but it eats power too much. Mainly their nice for BT mice but the best notebook mouse on the market is the logitec nano which has a very small usb dongle that barely sticks out the side of the USB.. My suggestion is just get one of those.

After you get your new laptop, make sure you do a clean install to take full advantage of its performance.
