    Changing BIOS settings..is that even possible?

    As you may have read b4, my quicklaunch buttons don't work...It's a problem with the BIOS because i installed Ubuntu and i had the same issue so that ruled out the problem being with the OS. Can BIOS settings be altered in order to fix this problem?

    have you tried the 'taking out the battery and holding some button' to reset the quicklaunch functions?
    i havent tried it as my buttons are working (although buggy) but i read a few times that this could correct the non-functioning quicklaunch pad

    yes..i've tried everything:

    the power button
    updating BIOS
    Formatting

    Nothing works...

    like i said..i don't think it's an issue with the OS bcoz the exact same buttons that don't work on vista don't work on Ubuntu as well...
