I was looking at Toshiba notebooks, but after reading some fairly negative things about their track record and getting a number of recommendations to look at HPs instead, I've started doing that. I'm pretty impressed with a couple of their models, but I'd like to hear what a few HP owners have to say about their HPs. The models I'm looking at are:

    nc6000-PL644UA
    nc6230-PU984AW
    nc8230-PV406AW

All three of these meet my desired specs in that they are less than 6lbs and have at least a 64MB dedicated graphics card.

If you own one of these three machines, or even HP, I'd love to hear your impressions or suggestions!

    Thanks!

I have an HP nc8230 on order. I had a tough time deciding on a notebook too. It came down to the HP nc8230 and the Asus V6V.

I decided to go with the nc8230 for its WSXGA+ Wide Viewing Angle screen and 128MB video memory option. I'm expecting it within the next week or two. I'll post my review shortly after I receive it.
