How do you charge the battery? My battery was emptied. I plugged the laptop in and was using it for several hours. I assumed that the battery was charging. Apparently, it didn't. When I logged in the next time, it says that the battery is in good condition even though its 0% full. The lightning bolt light (located on the bottom left) is flashing. Will the battery only charge if its plugged in, but not turned on and being used? Any thoughts?

It should charge when on ac power, in use or not. If it isn't, then there may be something wrong with the charging circuit in your battery. i am assuming that since your laptop's working, your motherboard and charger are okay. See if your battery is properly housed. Try taking it out and putting it in again. Then get it looked over by a service centre, if problem still persists.
