Is there like a sign to show that it is fully charge... because when I leave my DV6-1253ca to charge overnight, the little light beside the power outlet stays on the whole time. I read the user manual and it says that if it's done charging the light will be off but I left it overnight and it still stays on.
Is there something wrong with my unit or am i misunderstanding the whole light thing

The light right next to the charger connector indicates that the charger is plugged in.

The light on the front of your laptop indicates whether your battery is charging or not. When charging is complete or there is no battery connected, it will turn off. It's the one between the Power and HDD indicators on both my laptops, but yours might vary.

If you are actively using your laptop now it's normal. The battery has an internal thermal sensor which stops charging when it gets too hot. And as i think you've felt already, the notebook itself is quite a bit of a heat source.

Shut down the laptop and it will charge. By the way, it is recommended to keep the battery out of the laptop if you don't need it right away, constant 100% charge level and heat kills batteries very quickly (in a matter of months). They last a good 2 years otherwise.
