I'm interested in buying and am wondering what the cheapest source is. I've seen people on the forum talking $650 or even less. Are these deals still available?

I'd prob get the last gen envy 14.

How about new first Gen envy's or refurbished from hp (kind of wary of buying from a user because of no warranty)?

I think refurbs come with a 90-day warranty (could be wrong) whereas a user's Envy will come with the original purchase warranty, which you could inquire about before buying, but there's a good chance that most Envy 14's out there have more than 90 days left (okay, not mine...), especially since they started offering two-year warranties on CTO models.

As for the $650 prices - those reflected some coupons or other deals that people were getting. Most of those speculated prices were based on combining multiple non-compatible offers which some people were able to slide through but HP had every right to cancel if they wanted to.

so would there be any way to buy cheap new envy's? surely hp didn't exhaust their whole first-gen envy stock when before they released the sb envy...

I would think any left overs would eventually end up there :

    Refurbished business products

There's even one radiance. But it has a 840qm, a 256 gb SSD and 8 gb ram, so the price is hefty.
