    I just picked up an 8530w open box item. It's a great laptop, build is really nice, haven't had any of the issues other people have mentioned. But I can't seem to get the bluetooth going. When I ordered it, the description had this to say:

    Wireless details:

    Intel WiFi Link 5300 (802.11 a/b/g/n draft 2.0)

    HP Integrated Module with Bluetooth Wireless Technology

    I thought that meant that bluetooth would be installed. I did a fresh install of windows xp right when I got it, and then reinstalled all the drivers. I even tried to install the HP Integrated Module driver from the web but it during and after installation it said it could find no bluetooth bits installed. How do I know if it's in there somewhere? Should it be with a description like above? Here's a link to the full description:

    Have you check bluetooth setting in BIOS?

    Have you install HP wireless assistant? Try to enable the Bluetooth before installing the driver.

    That did it. I installed the wireless assistant then reinstalled the bluetooth drivers. Thanks

    I don't think you're going to need that. Right-click the bluetooth icon and everything you need is gonna be there.

    "Explore my bluetooth places" upon right click does nothing as well......

    I've searched a bit and found issues with xp sp2 and my specific problem but have yet to figure out how to solve it.

    @cmor,
    Glad to know, your bluetooth is having progress.
    For your problem, uninstall bluetooth driver from add/remove program reboot and install it again.

    @newsposter
    Use HP PartSurfer, here

    Strange, it should work.
    Try using Bluetooth driver from HP support page
