I have a HP Pavilion dv5-1138tx. YouCam was recording nice and smooth videos for me when I first got the unit but now when I record it's like it's playing at 15fps or less. I've not changed any settings so I'm wondering does anyone know how to fix it up or is there alternative software I can use to record that does a better job?

i think there's an hp update right now for youcam. check the support website for an update to youcam and see if it changes

Bad lighting usually makes the fps dip.
Webcams work best at daylight conditions. -
Yes this is true but in my case most of my recordings on the notebook were in the same spot, and during the day. So while lighting does play a big part I think my issue could be partly that, and perhaps something else.
I'll do some more testing though just to make sure. Thanks for your thoughts. -
Oh yeh and I just did a HP Update check and no new updates were found.
