    My apologies... I just wanted to have a different opinion on products from users who don't own a HP/Compaq laptop.

    That would be a good pick. Make you you check the wattage rating of this inverter. Your AC adapter is probably 60w, so you will need at least 90w to make it work, else the inverter will shut down.

    (I recommend 90w, because inverter tends to be rated by maximum peak demand. If it says 90w, it will not be able to substain 90w for a long time, but should be fine with continuous 60w)

    The Auto Adapter I recieved with my dv5000 was a 90W, even though the AC is 60W. I'd purchase it from HP, or at least get an HP adapter if your unit is under a warranty.

    This solution is more expensive, but more practical :)

    You don't have to carry the inverter AND your AC adapter !
