Ok, so I just ordered my Verve DV2700t Special Edition CTO (wo0o0o0o0ot)

I have a Vista OEM Disc and I'm just wondering if I can clean install DIRECTLY out of the box?

And do I really have to make recovery discs if I have a Vista OEM Disc?

Cuz I wanna start using it ASAP and a 30-min installation + 1-hour recovery disc session + 30-minute RE-INSTALLATION + 15-minute driver installation sounds BRUTAL

    THANX

If you don't make restore discs, you're just setting yourself up for uber-stupidity.

Its a good idea to make the recovery disks as a backup.

You will need to create the recovery disks first and burn the SWsetup folder . Also backup your activation using orev's guide (follow it!)

After thats done, you can start the clean install and even delete the recovery partition

    Argh ... fiiine, haha

I guess i'll read ALL the guides here since I have a good 2-weeks til I get it.

BTW anyone know if build times are actually faster than they say?

I'm guessing they're more like estimated shipping dates where they pick the absolute very last day, haha

it really varies... most of the time it arrives promptly. but dont be dissapointed if they move the ship date by a month

Psh build restore dvds first man, takes only an hour I should say if you do some really fast cleaning out of the bloatware. Then, the clean install process takes another hour to finish as well as another hour to install all the new drivers and let vista update. good luck!
