    Hi Everyone,

I just purchased my Envy 17t-3200 and it'll be coming within the next two weeks hopefully. I just wanted to know if anyone has any information on where I can learn how to do a clean install or at least how to remove whatever I don't need from HP?

Also does anyone have any tutorials on how to install an SSD because i only purchased the 750gb hydbrid.

Any help would be great! Thanks!

if its anything like the dv6/dv7 the restore feature will give you the option to do a minimal install . Which will only install the os, drivers and just a few hp things.

As far as the ssd .. Pull the laptop out of the box .. create the restore disk. Put ssd in machine . Boot up with restore disk in drive. select minimal install and your done. But be prepared to possibly need to order a hd caddy and sata wire to be able to use both drives. (if your planning on using both in the machine)

Like wolfman said the minimal install is probably the easiest way to handle a clean install. It gets rid of most/all the bloatware. It leaves behind a couple HP things one of which your laptop may need if it has a bluetooth radio in it (HP Connection Manager) because otherwise you cannot turn the radio off and on separately from the wifi radio

..though that also may just be an envy 14-1000 thing.

If done correctly you should be able to access them both, like putting music and movies on the hdd and games etc. on the ssd. I assume that is what you mean?

I used PC Decrapifier to remove any apps I do not need/want. Its pretty handy it will automatically start to uninstall selected apps. Much faster and easier then havin to manually remove all the unwanted apps
