So I did a clean reinstall using the anytime upgrade disc, I customized the disc using WAIK so that i could have the chipset drivers on the disc. Then I downloaded all the drivers from HP's site and put them on the disc as well so I could easily install them. I formated and reinstalled Vista then installed all the drivers. But I have a few questions. First off, the quickplay and dvd buttons aren't working for me even though I did install quickplay and the launch button drivers. Also before when I pressed the volume up or down buttons it would make a noise, which I liked since then I knew i had pressed it correctly, but the noise isn't working, even though the buttons are.
The remote that came with it works, but I was wondering if there is a way to customize the buttons. Since I have quickplay installed I would like to use that and not the windows media center, but the one button opens up WMC. Though I would be fine using the windows media center if I can get all the buttons to work. Like the quickplay button.

Lastly how do I access the webcam? The only way I see is through HP's quickplay...

    Thanks

I think quickplay is the only method I know of, same thing happened with the buttons for me. Install the files from both qlb and the other folder using the provided installer in swsetup. If you install qlb correctly, your remote and buttons will gain full functionality.

Try installing the drivers to the buttons first then to quickplay

Have you tried a driver sweeping program? Alot of driver files get left behind when un/installing and updating drivers.

Well I formated and reinstalled Vista. And it is working better now. The volume buttons make noises, and though i haven't installed quickplay I'm more pleased with how it is running now. I still have the question about if i can customize what the remote buttons do and the quickplay/dvd buttons? I know i can customize the play, stop, etc buttons with Autohotkey, but I don't believe that that can customize the quickplay or remote buttons... any ideas?

No i dont think its possible, alot of people has tried to customise the QLaunch buttons and non has seem to find an answer.

Btw does your Windows Media center button still launch the program?
