I just followed the clean vista install guide, worked like a charm. I would have posted in that thread, but it's not getting much attention on page 101![]()
I'm wondering if I could use the serial number from ABR or the bottom of the machine to active a Vista 32bit version instead of 64. I have a full version of both, but only one serial key that I use for my home machine.
If I selected the Home Premium version after install, would ABR activate it?
Thanks!

Using the code on the bottom, if I'm not wrong, requires you to call microsoft and give a bs reason for the reinstallation.

I know you'll have to call in, or I can use the program to back up the preinstalled serial, but the system came with Vista 64bit. What I'm wondering is if I could load a 32 bit version but use the serial number for the 64 bit to activate it?

Yeah, you can use the abr tool to install 32bit Vista. The key is tied to the version of Vista(Home Premium, Business etc) not the what architecture(32bit or 64bit) it uses. Alternatively, the key from the bottom should also work fine.
