    What the hell?

it's weird because I'm running Dawn of War 2 and Starcraft 2 in native resolution with max settings (water effect set to mid in Dawn of War 2)

The amd GPU overclock tool is also telling me that the default clock speed is 99/199

I'm guessing it's driver issues but i have no friggen clue. I installed the latest drivers and updated everything that needed to be updated.

The default clock is 100/200, but that's with the power saver stuff enabled. Did you install the Catalyst 10.3a package? Check your power settings. Looks like it's locked in power saving mode for some reason.

Check your power plan settings and mod that. Stock speeds for the 5830 IIRC are 400 and 800 (somewhere around those...lol).

Your GPU is forced to run slower...most likely a bad driver installation or compatibility issue. Considering how those 10.3 are not "official" yet, it could be that. I am running 10.1 I think and I have no problems, but when installed those 10.3 my ATI GPU would not run and I'd be forced to VGA only...quite annoying.

I've been running the 10.3a drivers for a long time now. My games all seem smoother, and I can still OC my RAM to 1GHz and all. *shrug*

Serg, are you talking about the 10.3a drivers that were released a few days ago? Because the preview release from a month or so ago is definitely a bit flaky.

Yepp, exactly. Those 10.3 ruin my GPU completely...(shakes fist at the screen). I am hoping tomorrow morning to install the latest 10.3 official version and see what gives.

In the AMD GPU Clock tool, make sure you select the 'device' from the drop-down, even though it looks like it's already selected. When I start the program it says 100/200 (or 99/199) but when I actually select the 'device' in that first drop-down menu, it goes to 500/800. Got mine up to 550/1070 so far and 5.4k GPU score on 3dmark vantage.
