I did a clean install on my new dv6t QE and installed all the software that I thought I would use.

    However I have lost
    1. On Screen Display for volume up and down, mute, brightness up and down etc.
    2. The function to turn on and off the touch pad on the top left with a double click.
    3. I'm also assuming HP has power management software. I would like to give that a try.

Did you install all of the drivers from HP's site?

Did you get the problems figured out? I am receiving my dv6tqe soon and was also thinking about doing a clean reinstall.

I ended up just making recovery discs, then uninstalling stuff I didn't want. Seems to have worked fine, but honestly this machine is going back to HP. The touch pad is unusable and the screen is pretty terrible. I hope to have better luck with my DM1Z. On the upside, I'm getting 6 1/2 hours of battery life with the 9-cell battery.
