    Hello everyone!

My laptop needs cleaning as one of the fans makes loud noises sometimes :)
So my question is there a way to clean it without opening the laptop. Some way with air through the vents.
Also is there a guide for taking apart this laptop because I've heard that in order to reach the fans you need to take every part of the laptop off?

    Thanks in advance!

I'm no expert, but I'm pretty sure opening the laptop is a must or else risk blowing dust further into the laptop. I followed this video teardown of a very similar model:

HP Pavillion dv6 Complete Disassembly and Reassembly. 2011 Laptop - YouTube

I only wanted to clean the fans so I stopped after removing the keyboard (be very gentle with the zif connectors...) which gives just enough access to the fans to clean it.

I then used a can of compressed air and blew air OUT towards the vent while holding the fan in place and then used Q-tips dipped in rubbing alcohol to swab the fan blades.

Someone please correct me if this method is flawed.

Thank you man! Why does HP have to do the fan so hard to clean. I know that most of the laptops have covers specifically for the fan and are really easy to clean :)
