I wanted to clean the fan of my laptop by using the air compressor periodically so that dust wouldn't build up. Is there a recommended way to do it? Does the fan suck from the bottom and blow out the back and side? I was planning to blow the air compressor into the bottom side where i believe the fan is sucking air. Is it ok to do this while the laptop is on or should I turn it off? Thank you. :D

after some more research it looks like i should try to hold the fan still by using a toothpick or cotton swab before blowing it with the compressed air (so that it doesn't spin too fast and mess up the fan). should i blow all the vents i see or is there any i should avoid?

Sounds good, and you can spray all vents. The only precaution is to make sure the air can is straight up. If they'd get to the side or upside Down, it will spray out liquid. Which can damage he parts and gives instant frost bite on skin. :D

Always do it when its turned off. Take out the battery too.

The vent on the bottom and side will suck in air. The one at the back is the exhaust vent.

If your using an air compressor, set it to a decent pressure so you dont destroy anything.
