    Hey,

My girl friend spilled juice on her V2000z (actually a V2565) while watching a movie. Fortunately the sound only went out temporarily (whew); everything works now but things are just a sticky mess now.

Does anyone know where one might find a dissection guide for this model? I was able to unstick the keyboard using compressed air and some "Monster" brand monitor solvent (without taking anything apart).

I won't be able to get at the laptop until this weekend and it would be nice to be aware of any supprises in advance. Even just some shots of the innards would be helpful. She has noticed that the fan is running more frequently now, though its hard to say since the weather has been warmer too.

    Thanks in advance.

Here you can find HP's guide. It shows you exactly how to take apart the laptop. i suggest you do it sooner rather than later because you never know where that juice was able to go.

I had a Compaq Laptop that i spilt water all over it, for some reason it still worked!!! I mean this thing was soaked. The minute the water spilled on it i pulled the plug and took out the bottle. But before then i had split pepsi on the keyboard, it was sticky even after doing a thorough cleaning of the keyboard. the best thing to do is to get a replacement if you dont want the rubber pieces under the key buttons to keep on sticking.

Yea, I was definitely thinking about getting a replacement keyboard. Can you order them through HP's website?

I'll probably try removing the whole keyboard and rinse it in isopropyl alchol and water first.
