How would you go about doing this? Most important part is just the vents, I just noticed there is an unusual amount of dust bunnies in there. Almost every cleaning method for most devices that have vents is blowing compressed air into the vents. If you're doing this, then aren't you blowing dust BACK INTO your laptop? What's the point of doing this![]()
tl;dr How do you get to the vents to clean them? How would you clean them? Where are all the disassemble videos for the dv6-1200?

The best way to clean it is to open it and remove the dust and "bunnies" -
yes best way is to unscrew the bottom cover.
XEROenvy, you know of a review for the HP dv6t which has same specs as yours? i wanna know about the cooling effectiveness over long periods of gaming. -
I always wondered though, in Youtube vids people will even tell you to blow compressed air through the air vents of say a PS3.
If air is blown into the vents, isn't that just blowing the dust into the vents? How does that help... -
It temporarily cleans the fins that passing air cools. Therefore temperatures drop for a while. Since the dust is still inside the computer it fills the cooler again rather fast.
If the computer has been in use for a longer time, the dust might be more solid and blowing it into the computer might result in jammed fan.
