I have been able to get the sound working on my HDX 9200, but the IR Remote and TV tuner are being stuborn. I wondering if anyone has been able to get either to work or lead me in some direction.

Please post how you got the sound to work. What driver and what method. Thank you.

Here are some threads that should help you out. All who participated in these threads would love to learn how you got the sound to work.

Actually the vista driver installed
-
Be sure to post that in any threads you come across about getting sound in XP on the HDX.
Thanks for sharing. Welcome to the forum. -
Hi all
This cant be true... We have tried to install the Vista drivers and it doesnt work on the HDX1930eg i have.
So can you please upload the driver you used to rapidshare or give us the link to it.
Does it really work 100% ??? Or does it only show in the Hardware manager that the driver is installed but only Headphones work?
Hopefully you're right, so please post a reply -
I was surprised too when it worked. The sound is coming out of the speakers. I have not checked if there is sound out of the sound jacks. It gives ability to adjust all 7.1 channels, but the left/right channels are the only ones that seem to do much (do work OK). And this is on xp sp2. I just followed what other people did on the threads. I'm still trying to get the remote and TV tuner to work, so that I can have a complete xp driver cd.

I uploaded the TV CArd drivers to Rapidshare for you. Use this one for your TV Card : http://rapidshare.com/files/100716611/v1.3.0.66_wencoder_v1.1.0.26_logo_sid1234721_vista32.zip.html
Can you please upload the Soundcard drivers you used?
CIR doesnt work yet. No drivers available for XP yet. I couldnt find one that worked. -
Was there a sequence that you installed drivers?
Say, sound vista driver, reboot, then install video driver, reboot...
Or reboot after each driver install.
Or install all drivers then reboot when done.
That sort of thing. -
Did you download the drivers from the Homepage or did you use the ones from your Harddrive?
Maybe you have some drivers that are newer then the ones on the HP homepage and thats the reason why it is working? -
The driver was off my hard drive, swsetup
-
Would you mind uploading it?
-
i have tried this driver loads of times for the hdx 9095ea and will not work, so if there is a sequence to installing or forcing this driver then post it please.... everything installs, but the stacsv.exe fails to start and all i get is an error code 10, device failed to start.....
audio from software folder i can up load this to my ftp site if required
http://www.hpdrivers.mercs.us/ -
Yeah please upload the driver to somewhere
I think you may have another version of the drivers on your harddrive...
Hopefully this will help us all... -
the link above is for hdx9095ea vista drivers, if polishz3 has different drivers i will host them if you like, if he mailed them or told me were to get them -
just checked, the drivers for vista for both 9200 and 9095 are the same.
so the driver on my ftp is the one polishz3 claims to have got working for XP
www.hpdrivers.mercs.us for the audio driver -
Hopefully the ones Polish has are different, because the drivers caoimhe posted doesnt work for me (hdx9130eg)

Hello, guys!
We are following this debate with interest. We have several with a silent HDX with XP and like you we expect this solution!
Do you think this is true, or it may be a hoax? -
well as i have already stated , that the drivers for polishz3's laptop and mine are the same, so its down to him to point us all in the right direction.... and for so much interest in this thread, you'd think he would be only too eager in helping us all out -
I just remembered that I offered a possible solution on another thread a few weeks ago but never heard back concerning it's success or failure. It involves using Dell drivers for XP for the same/similar sigmatel STAC 92xx sound hardware.
Here's the link: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showpost.php?p=3078421&postcount=4 -
still no word on how polishz3 got his driver to work ????? starting to doubt that his IS actually working
-
So I take it the Dell drivers don't work.
-
nay mate.... still cant get the stacsv.exe to start up.
-
Did you install Intel Mobile Chipset drivers for XP?
Driver Install order should probably be:
1 Chipset driver
2. Video driver
3. Audio driver
Then the rest of the drivers.
You can try Dell's mobile chipset driver: http://support.dell.com/support/dow...1&impid=-1&formatcnt=1&libid=27&fileid=149851 -
did you get it to work.....
i have uploaded every driver that i got to work on my 9095ea... except the audio.... i used MCE as my OS as it will operate the remote control and TV card... but still no sound

if i'm missing some give me a shout -
I don't have the HDX yet. The idea of XP on it interests me though. I only have one app that won't work in Vista so I might virtualize a "tiny" XP with VMware.
I spent about an hour looking for the website forum that was in Spanish of someone who used Dell drivers to get sound through the speakers to work in XP. That's where I got the original link from.
One thing I did note was that the person listed the order in which they installed the drivers after a fresh install of XP. I know for other computers that sometimes matters. Some Sager's for one. -
thanx mate will give this another try
-
how i installed
installed MCE
installed UAA - rebooted
installed WinXP Audio - Rebooted
install ATI 2600HD - Forced Install
installed HDMI ATI audio - rebooted and changed back the sound device to IDT Audio
installed Ricoh SD Card driver (SP33604)
installed BlueTooth (SP34842A)
had to disable the sttray in the registery as it was blue screening the laptop
installed lan (i use wireless, and it was slipstreamed into the MCE)
updates started to install at this stage...
installed AuthenTec AES1610 Finger Printer Driver (SP35337)
installed Silicon Image 3531 SATA Controller - rebooted due to updates installedll
installed Verisoft Access Manager (SP35640) - rebooted
installed HP Quick Launch Buttons (SP32280) - rebooted
installed HP Quick Launch Buttons (SP38266) - 6.30 Rev. J
installed ITE Tech.Inc. - took three attempts but finally installed
although i still have 4 yellow marks i have found out that these are some of the buttons i.e the 'eject button' these i am not worried about... and also the AVERYTV A301... when i installed this (vista driver) the 'ehome' started to create errors so i uninstalled it...
all these file can be found on my site... hope this helps
