Is there a way (when plugged in) to close the lid and be able to play music? Also I want to close it but still have it output to a TV for example. Is this possible and if so how? Thanks in advance!

Set your power options to do nothing when the lid is closed. You can find this option in Control Panel(classic view)->Power Options->Advanced.
