    Yes, you read that right -- there will be HP Envy 14 notebooks! No other information about it, but it is confirmed by HP through Softpaq SP45817:

    ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp45501-46000/sp45817.cva

    Code:
    SysId62=0x1436
    SysName62=HP ENVY 14-1000
    SysId63=0x1437
    SysName63=HP ENVY 14-1000

    My comment is that you did some nice sleuth work and thanks for reporting it, time to start the owners lounge for the Envy 14 and get the props for that too :D

    HP really is doing a nice job of filling in all the possible laptop sizes for every range.

    Cool, perhaps this will be the one *crosses fingers*

    What I'm looking for:

    Hybrid graphics with 9600m GT at least for the dedicated card.
    higher than 1366 res
    9-10 hour battery with the slice 5-7 without
    5 pounds or lighter

    Hey, a guy can dream right?

    Nice find!
    Same specs as it's bigger brother would be nicer.

    +1, without being the same size(i.e. 14in screen on a 15in body)

    If not I would not mind seeing an i5/i7 dual core with an ATI 4760 gpu.

    Looks like this came up late on HP's release lineup. Really excited to see the release date or some teasers here and there.

    So soon? Damn, I'm typing this in my Envy 15 now and this make me think that perhaps there will be a version out there, either the 14 or a 15 refresh that will have what I'm looking for...

    Edge to edge glass for real this time, preferably Radiance-level display for this price range.
    Core i7 or i5.
    48xx, 47xx, or 58xx gfx
    Backlit keyboard.

    Honestly the Envy 15 is pretty damn near perfect except for the lack of backlit keyboard and edge to edge glass Radiance display.

    If I had to guess the Envy 14 will slot in between the two other Envys. Probably Arrandale core i7, but only the dual core medium power versions (which can go in the Envy 13 also). No way they try a 4830 or 58xx graphics card. More likely something in the 45xx or 55xx series. No optical disk to keep the weight under 5 pounds.

    Hopefully they consider the high res screen options - certainly 900p but hopefully 1080p. High resolution screens in smaller laptops are an underserved market. Font technology is such that everyone should want more pixels on smaller screens.
