Did you see this at BestBuy, if so its like 950 dollars after rebate. Not sure what ports and stuff you get, (I dont trust bestbuys descriptions all that much.) But i dont think you get infrared
or media card reader, and you do get a 32 meg video card.

Looking for info on this machine also, but havent seen much, im interested in seeing exactly what ports and plugs your getting.
how long battery life lasts, stuff like that.

If you dig anything up let us know....

It's just another R3000z variant. See hp.com. Hmm... looking at the specs, it's an awfully stripped-down R3000z. 15" 1024x768 screen instead of a widescreen. I'd wait until the higher-end variants are on sale, or just configure what you want direct from HP (which is often the cheapest way to go, but you'll have to wait about 2 weeks to receive your order).

In short: properly configured, these are great machines for getting work done. Not so good for gaming, though the 440 Go dedicated memory video chip is better than any shared memory solution. There are some really neat options available when you buy direct from HP.

Did see this laptop in a Best Buy ad and also in thier store. Looks like an OK computer, but the screen is an older type and a bit washed out vs. newer screens. It may be an OK machine for $950.
