I have a dv9000. Computer was fine one day, tried to start it up the next and it was a no go. When i turn it on, there is no picture on the screen but all the led lights come on. About 5 seconds later it shuts itself off and starts back up. Once in a while (usually when the cd drive is out) the screen will come one and it looks normal, then it will display all lines until it shuts down after about 5 seconds.

I had someone look at it and they reseated the ram and harddrive. Then put the harddrive in the other spot and still nothing. If anyone has any guesses I`d like to hear it. Thanks

There is basically very little you can do at this point: either get it repaired from HP for like $350 (i'm assuming you don't have any more warranty) or try reflow and such

You can go to HP Lies: The nVidia Defect for more support for the specific defect
