    Compac Presario M2000 Just Died Today HelP!

    My laptop wont turn on, checked batt and ac all fine. Is this a motherboard fault like some peeps have said? What can I do can't afford to buy a new mother board? :(

    Sorry to hear about your problem and welcome to the forum,

    Do any of the lights come on and do you hear the CPU fan or Hard drive spinning?

    hi, im having this problem too...

    i was using my notebook 30 mins ago on batt alone.
    then i left my desk for 10mins and back it was off.
    so i thought could be low batt, took out the batt and plug in the charger.
    doesnt work. so i put back the batt and see if it can charge, somehow the power led is not on either(nor charging).

    also tested the charger passing to a friend and he had no problem with the charger.

    anyone knows what could the possible reason b? motherboard dead?
    its out of warranty for mine 1.5yr old notebook. im thinking of buying a board to replace myself due to the cost that would occur at HP. is it hard to as i've never tried a notebook b4. is it possible to get a better board? mine is v2424.
