Well this is a tough question that I don't expect to get an answer but hope so, I have an older Compaq 1675 laptop, and it actually has an rj-45 Ethernet plug on the side with what looks like a network logo underneath it. When I look at the specs anywhere online I do not see it even mentioned that there is a ethernet plug, just a regular modem plug, but clearly I see it. I tried plugging the internet in but I get no results. I went on compaqs home page and the only listed driver is a V90 Lucent 56k Modem driver, not even a mention about the Ethernet plug. I mean if I didn't physically see it all documentation indicates that this plug is not even there.

I opened up the laptop to see if it was even connected to something and sure enough it is connected and a little board over it had a part number and that part number led to a Modem board, again no mention of the ethernet plug, not even in device manager. So I am confused and want this to work but just can't figure out how to make it happen, any thoughts?

    Peace
