My HP compaq 6715b dvd drive (HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-4084n) is randomly opening and spinning when I'm not even using it. For example, I will be browsing the internet and the drive will open. Not only that, but opening the drive takes multiple presses of the eject button and ejecting it from My Computer does not work. I am hoping this is a software issue where I can just reinstall the firmware/drivers, and not a hardware issue. What can I do to fix this problem? It's very annoying to be watching a DVD and then have the movie stop because the drive is ejecting on its own.

Sure there's not something wrong with the mechanism?
