I have a Compaq 700ea laptop that needs its motherboard battery replacing.

Seems no easy way to do this, other than to remove the whole back of the laptop case. Downloaded their service manual - but no mention of replacing of the motherboard battery!

Is there any easy way to do this?

Yep - you read that right. Service manual for this laptop does not mention how to locate/remove motherboard battery. You couldn't make that incompetence up!

Finally located it, well hidden under the dvd drive.

Just another piece of badly designed cr@p.
