Sorry I asked this in the 'What Notebook Should I Buy' forum too but I think I might get a better response here.

Anybody in the APAC region bought a Compaq Presario B1200 series notebook yet? It looks like a pretty nice 12.1" notebook especially for the price of under AU$2000. Was wondering if anybody has bought one/tried one out first hand? Opinions would be great!

Btw I don't think this has been released in the USA. Think it's only Asia-Pacific for now.

Hmmmm so I'm wondering is no one replying cos this notebook is really crap or because no ones actually ever heard of it.

What do you guys think about it just on paper from the specs given in the link?

I wish they would release the B series in the US. But its never been sold out side the AP region for some reason. I would buy it in a heartbeat considering its a fairly inexpensive almost ultraportable. Perfect size if you carry the notebook around with you. The 8 cell battery might be a better idea than the 4 cell if battery life is important but looks like the 8 cell would stick out of the notebook and not sit flush along the chassis as the 4 cell but the extra battery life should be worth it. For a 12" it looks like it is fairly heavy at 4.5lb. Other than that from the pics looks like any other HP/Compaq laptop and should be a good general use laptop.
