Just wondering is there a way to get at memory timings and FSB settings in an HP notebook BIOS.
I'll make it clear I am NOT looking to bypass any HP or BIOS passwords, I would just like to have the ability to change (in the BIOS not through the OS) the speeds and timings of the memory and CPU & FSB just like my desktop computer.
I plan on converting the notebooks function over to a permanent desktop. There will be adequate cooling and the laptop is not that new so I am not worried about prematurely killing hardware from heat and stress, if it goes it goes.
Is there such a thing as a third party BIOS that will allow for these type of changes? I've tried researching this for awhile and have only come across ppl wanting to remove BIOS passwords, which is not what I am after. If anything I am asking is "wrong" you do not need to address it.
Thanks for the help.

No, those things are locked in the BIOS.
You will need to use software within windows to tweak those settings.
