So I dont know where to post this but this seemed like a good place. I have an HP Compaq Presario C700 (vista). Well, today I tried to turn it on and after the whole HP logo screen came up and the little microsoft windows bar with the little green lines loaded the screen went black and nothing happened. Well, I dont have any system restore discs or what not so I decided to try the System Recovery (by hitting F11). It said that windows was loading files and then went to a blue screen with the cursor on it. Nothing happened. Then I turned it off and tried restarting it it came up telling me to run the "Launch Startup Repair (recomended)" so I did. Goes back to that "windows is loading files" and then to the same blue screen it did before. Any clue what I can do to save my computer? Do I need to just wait for something to load on the blue screen?

Try running disk check before loading windows.. may help
if not, you may need to put that s&h down on a recovery disc.
