    Hello all,
    simple quick question....I have a Presario cq61 and a dell inspiron n5030. The screen on the dell was punched by my sister so it currently does not work...I want to know can I transfer the screen from my cq61 to the n5030?

    Thanks for the help!

    The panels in question:

    Comparing both panels side-by-side;

    1. cable type;···········both LVDS (1 ch, 6-bit)··
    2. connector type;·······both 40 pins·············
    3. connector location;···both bottom-left·········
    4. backlight type;·······both WLED················
    Therefor ... answer to a 'simple' question is "yes, effortlessly".

    hi, these two laptop have diferent screen type, the CQ61 is 15.6 LCD screen, the n5030 is 15.6 LED screen, so you can not transfer the screen from cq61 to the n5030.

    Look at the compare; both are WLED type, not CCFL. More technically; both are LCD's, which is the actual screen. Their backlight is either CCFL, White LED or RGB LED and is a device separate from the LCD proper (the "Cell", in Panelook).

    You're thinking of the older CQ60 series, which, indeed, had a CCFL-backlighted LCD; LP156WH1-TLC1. That being said, it is possible an otherwise identical laptop model may have been build with both CCFL and WLED screens. Dell, for one, has done this. If you want certainty; look up the lcd model nr. in Panelook. The broken lcd can be verified with the sticker on the back, the working one can be checked using HWiNFO (Monitor Name).

    Btw, original CCFL's can be adapted to support WLED-backlighted LCD's using an adapter board, tucked away between the panel and lid. These host several different connectors, matching a wide variety of CCFL LCD's.
