I had 2 Compaq Presario F700 series and both stopped working. When you press the power button the LED lights blink twice and it won't come on. It won't do anything. Has anybody else ever encountered this problem? How do I fix it?

First thing to check, is your power supply working? That blinking light sounds like battery totally empty. Take the battery out, plug in the power. Power/charge led should be lit if power supply is working.

Only strange thing is that you have two of those with same symptoms. Had any lightning storms recently or something similar that would kill laptop psu? Can't really thing anything else right now that could kill two at once.

can't speak about laptops, but I get flash backs when this happened to my desktop a couple years ago. The back of the tower, where the electric cord enters the unit, the green led flashed..... It turned out to be the Power Box inside the computer. It had to be changed out and all was good. I wonder if your power source in the laptop is also fried. Good luck though and hopefully the fix won't cost too much.

Try using another AC Adapter and see if they charge the batteries on both units, by the charging LED indicator. Since you got two of the same laptops, you should try the other charger and see if it works. Maybe you got a blown-out adapter on the one you are using at the moment.

If that isn't the case (assuming both AC Adapters aren't the culprit), you can also try to static discharge both laptop's motherboard by removing the battery, unplug the adapter and press and hold the power button for 30 seconds, put the battery back in and plug back in the AC and see if they turn on.
