    Compaq F500 Series (F504EA) - Screen Replacement

    Im in UK, recently bought an F504EA from ebay, but screen it cracked, paid £90 so a good buy even if i hook it to external monitor

    Where is my best bet to get a screen and what screens will be compatible? Never had to fit a screen before.

    You know, I'm not sure that it's an issue of no one being able to help you, I think there is an issue here of "google is your friend." I don't vouch for the company, but here's one site that will sell you a screen for your compaq: http://www.screentekinc.com/compaq__Presario__F500_Series-series-laptops-lcd-screens.shtml There are plenty of other options out there just seach for Compaq lcd replacement or something similar. Or you could buy another laptop of ebay with a dead MB but working LCD and just swap the lcd's. The site listed above also has step-by-step instructions for replacing the LCD in your laptop, so even if you don't buy from them, you can at least see what is involved in the process.
