I'm looking at buying a laptop with the money from my iMac (there are various reasons for this) and was wondering if this Compaq F730US would be a decent one. I need it 95% of the time for typical student activities (internet, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) with maybe a little bit of gaming and graphic design thrown in. The price looks great, but I'm a little wary of buying a Compaq - are they any good these days? Thanks for any advice!

It should be sufficient for your needs. I like HP laptops, others don't like them that much. My sister also owns an older HP. We had no problems with HP but God forbid, you do not want to deal with their customer service.

    Gaming - No.

Even games like CoD, Wolfenstein ET, PoP, etc.? I'm not talking high-end gaming here..just a few "casual" ones for LAN parties and such.
