My Compaq is dead. Now power.
Battery is good. I contact Compaq and I must power the laptop without the battery in the laptop.
I hear two or tree loud beeps and than is the laptop again dead.
So Compaq told me to push the start button for more than a minute to drain the power.
For the second time I put the power cabel in the laptop and start the laptop with now battery and hear two beeps and dead.
So there is a big problem.
Perhaps can you tell me if what this is for problem?
    Sorry for my Englisch.
    Thanks for helping.
    André
PS. The Compaq M 2000 is 2 years old

    Welcome to the forums.

The beeps may indicate bad memory. Try running Memtest86 to see if you come up with anything.

This is the Compal forum. I will move you over to the HP/Compaq forum where you will get more appropriate responses.
