    Hi Guys,
I am getting a very good deal in Compaq presario. But I have never used Compaq earlier(Used Dell and Lennovo only). Can you give me feedback on the same. Is it worth buying? Am I compromising on quality? My usage is very limited to web browsing and some lightweight applications.

If you had a Latitude or Thinkpad before this, the Compaq's build quality will not be up to the same level. It depends on the price of the Compaq.....

Yeah I understand that. The price difference between same configuration in Dell is 20%.
The information I was looking for is if there are frequent problems like: -
    1. Battery failure
    2. Over heating
    3. Failure of some common components.

When I browsed thru this forum, I saw a lot of issues in the WifFi etc.

So far, the C700 series models are not listed as one of the problematic units insofar as overheating and WiFi is concerned. Some of the basic C700 models have an Atheros AR5007 WiFi card, which is much better than the Broadcom one that seems to saturate much of HP's budget notebook line.

As for the batteries, they are the same standard 6-cell that is offered as a base on the higher models. My battery life has not been great with them, but I've never had a failure yet.......

    Thanks for the Info.
Actually since the price difference is about 20% from any other manufacturer, I felt probably this might have some problems.
