well i purchased the compaq presario cq50-215nr model about 1 month ago, and i like it verry much.
i bought it for 430$ including tax.
now here is my debate.
on the manufactures site it says my laptop's ram is upgradable to 4gb and at bestbuy it said 3gb. on the manufatures site it says my laptop has a webcam, hdmi port, and media slot reader and at bestbuy it does not.
now i have none of those included due to the fact i purchased this laptop from bestbuy.
im just woundering if its a mistake from compaq's site.
also i feel that my laptop is getting quite hot, should i worry and get a cooling pad? what are the risks if i dont. this is my first laptop and i am not sure if its unusual/too hot.

You got what you paid for, this price is only for Base configuration. More options will cost more, just like car.
Use a cooling pad doesn't hurt to take out the heat which costs only around $15. -
ok just making sure, upgraded it anyways to 3gb, so my laptop is at max settings (for now). so i will see if i can find anygood deals on cooling pads.

Maybe this will help, it's the specific product specifications for the Compaq CQ50-215nr- http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01555875&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&lang=en&product=3795238
According to the specs, the RAM can be upgraded to 4GB. But with Vista Home Premium 32-bit, 4GB is a waste. The system can't "see" much over 3GB, so there's no real benefit to upgrading beyond 3GB. The specifications don't show a webcam, HDMI port or media card reader included on this model.
As for the heat issue- a laptop cooler is definitely a good idea! I'd suggest one that has one or more fans built in. My Antec Notebook Cooler has worked perfectly for almost two years so far. Here's a link to a site that currently has it on sale for $18.95- http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/456567-REG/Antec_NOTEBOOKCOOLER_USB_Notebook_Cooler_Aluminum_Black_.html
Unfortunately, AMD processors (such as your QL-60) tend to generate a bit more heat than comparable Intel processors. In the long run, the additional heat can lead to intermittent shutdowns, component failures and can reduce the overall lifespan of your laptop. The notebook cooler will go a long way toward minimizing the heat buildup. -
thanks, guess i was looking at something else for my model, but in the info that came witht he case said it should have everything, but i think thats just for the basic models of the cq50 series. i have seen, a simular cooler like that at bestbuy/tigerdirect. i will be purchasing one soon due to the fact that everytime i set it on something its verry warm, even on the display screen kinda.
in all thank you. -
Here is screen shot of my system information.

hm well ill upgrade to 4 gb when i need to.
but is your model number the same? because i see a different processor, so it might not be the same? anyways i think tigerdirect would understand if it wasnt compatible and i can return it probably.
thanks, cause i might need to upgrade this to max, because i plan on keeping it for atleast 4-6 years.
anyways who ever owns this, would my pc's preformance slow down if i installed a game like halo2 vista, or anythng else? because i have the graphics card for these games i just dont want to risk anything, and would it be possible to unistall it and go back to the settings before the game was played?
