Hey everyone, I have this strange problem that has been baffling me. I am trying to install windows XP on my Compaq Presario F759WM Laptop, and every time I try to boot up to my XP disc when I start the laptop, I get the common setup is inspecting your computer's hardware configuration, and it just hangs there. I even waited for over an hour to see if anything else would happen, as I read in some other forums this can take a while, but nothing happened after that time period. Another note too, I also tried installing XP on a different partition of the hard drive, when I still had Vista Home Premium on there, and it still gave me the same response. I used DBAN afterwards to wipe out the whole hard drive, thinking that it might of resolve the hanging issue, but it still persists.
I also read that one thing I can do is to go into the BIOS, and go into System Configuration to change SATA compatibility to AHCI. However, my BIOS doesnt even have that for an option, so I cant even do that. It gives me these 4 options to change my language, dedicated video memory, Virtualization Technology, and Boot Options. I looked at Hps How to Add Serial ATA (SATA) Drives to a Windows Installation but I didnt find anything helpful.
I even looked into other stuff, like slipstreaming the drivers with Nlite, but Im not sure if I am doing it right or am using the right drivers to do it.
Also, here are the specifications for my Compaq F759WM.
I also found that the hard drive is Fujitsu MHY2160BS as well.
