This is probably been done hundreds of times, but i can't find a specific review on this model. How good is this model? I was seriously considering this model. I use the computer for graphic designing and dreaweaver so demand is not 2 high. I really enjoy the look, the weight is a bit heavy but thats fine with me. Is the AMD64 a good choice? With the mobo on this laptop am i able to run at 1600 Mhz front side bus? and is this a worthy investment for the future? Thank you so much once again in advance for all your help

Look for reviews of the R3000z and HP zv5000z, same difference. Also check hp.com for configure-to-order models, there are some neat upgrades and it's often cheaper (though you'll have to wait about 2 weeks for them to be FedEx'd from Shanghai).

The AMD64 is the best choice. Fast, very good power management, 64-bit capable, Enhanced Virus Protection (hardware-assisted buffer overflow protection when used with WinXP SP2). Whenever Microsoft gets around to releasing 64-bit WinXP you'll be ready (free license swap). 64-bit Linux (ie Fedora Core 2) is available now if you're so inclined.

My only major complaint is that the GPU is not appropriate for 3D gaming, which is frustrating since the CPU is ideal for games. For 2D work like you're doing this isn't a problem.
