I will be buying a note book for collage, with in the next couple of months, and have been looking at the Presario. Is this a good note book for school as for as durability, and quality. And what about heating I don't want anything I can cook an egg on. And what are the pro and cons. this would be my first notebook so I need it get it right the first time. it needs to last for about 3-4 years. No gaming. Just surfing the web,e-mail and a lot of Papers.

Yes. Also check out the configure-to-order zv5000z/R3000z notebooks on hp.com. There are some really nice upgrades available.

    Yes, what brianstretch said.
I got my zv5000z CTO for $1574 (before the $50 rebate) and it has the following specs:
    Athlon64 3200+
    1 gig DDR ram
    64MB 440 Go
    80GB 5400rpm HD
    DVD/CDRW combo drive
    54g wireless
    AND the Hi capacity battery
So, about the only thing different from the 3240US you saw was that, although I have the 15.0" standard screen and combo drive instead of DVD burner, I have 1 gig of ram, the faster 80GB HD, and the upgraded battery. So if you're looking for some specific features, on that R3000 series, you can still customize and get a nice price, too.

    Cheers,

    Stevo
