The display on my Presario R4000 has become blurry and distorted. Occasionally if the correct amount of pressure is applied to the back of the laptop, the display will correct itself, but more often than not the display will remain blurred and distorted.

The HP website is advising me to contact them by phone, but unfortunately their opening times are during my working hours. Typical.

Can someone here maybe suggest what I can do to remedy this?

It almost sounds as if the lcd is warping. I would have HP take a look at it anyway, but the replacement cost may not be pleasant if you have no remaining extended warranty coverage.
