Hey guys I have this old Presario that I'm trying to fix and I can't for the life of me figure out what I did wrong.

Ok so the laptop started out not charging unless the plug was in the dc jack in some crazy angle. So I figured all I needed to do was take the system apart and replace the dc jack. I thought everything went well (I have no real soldering experience) and everything looks pretty good to my untrained eye.... Anyway now the laptop doesnt even recognize the power cord. Now I know this topic has been beaten to death but does anyone have any idea as to something I may have overlooked?

well the only think I can think of is 1 - the new jack is not well attached/soldered into the motherboard. or 2 the motherboard shorted out. Does it even turn on at all with the battery or the battery is not charged?
