Hello,
I just purchased a Compaq Presario V6000 with Vista home basic installed. However, b/c I frequently use older specialized software I would like to install and use Windows XP professional. I installed XP and downloaded the drivers and updates from the HP and windows using my wireless connection. However, after installing everything available my ethernet was the only device not recognized in the device manager.I have read the thread 78598 where a dv2000t has windows xp installed on a vista os machine. However, the SwSetup files are labeled differently in my SwSetup folder. I am unable to find the network folder. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks.

Did you try these drivers....

I see there are 2 drivers - one for the Pro 100 and the other for the Pro 1000. That should be all you would need to get the ethernet working. If those dont work, then try checking in Windows update. MS usually has working drivers for ethernet/wifi etc. -
